20xx年冬天，史教授应邀到我校动物医学院作一个关于“线粒体功能和代谢紊乱”的学术报告，引起了包括我在内的许多同学和老师的极大兴趣。结合自己的专业特点和对讲座的理解，我在讲座后又请教了史教授一些相关的问题，同时表达了自己愿意到他的美国实验室进行培训和锻炼的想法。史教授在向我的导师及我本人了解了我的基本的情况后，当场就同意并许诺会通知他所在大学的医学院办理相关事宜。一切都顺利得有点不可思议。

初到美国，一切重新开始。我所在医学院的校区位于宾州东部的小镇赫什(音译)，当地以生产巧克力出名。很快，我就对这个陌生的地方产生了强烈的新鲜感和好奇。忘不了最初进超市买生活用品时，总是不自觉地把价格都乘以7得出超贵的结论后还是把它们抛进购物车里的懊恼;忘不了和土耳其女孩一起去小酒铺买红酒时试酒的兴奋;忘不了我从一个30度的15米斜坡滑雪下来稳稳站立后那一刻的快乐，尽管我的朋友那时就躺在我旁边雪地里——摔得脸都看不见了……当我在灯下上网和国内朋友聊国外见闻至深夜时，窗外一阵吱吱声打断了我，一只毛茸茸的松鼠衔着一颗不知名的果实瞧着我，好像在问：有那么好聊的吗?在这个小镇，26岁的我体验了无数的“第一次”。
