i'm xxx from class xx. the earth is not only the home where human beings live together, but also the environment on which we live. the reduction of the earth's ozone layer and global warming; forest and other vegetation are cut down indiscriminately, the forest coverage is reduced, and the land is becoming more and more desertification; the continuous extinction of species on the earth causes ecological imbalance; the massive discharge of industrial waste gas and sewage, the flood of domestic garbage, the pollution of air and water sources, and the continuous destruction of our living environment by ourselves - mankind. environmental pollution poses a great threat to our human survival.

if we do not attach great importance to environmental protection, our earth will be destroyed and mankind will perish. this is by no means alarmist. therefore, we must take protecting the environment as our own responsibility, start from me, from around us, and from now on, and consciously protect the environment.

as a student, we should first learn to consciously protect the campus environment. therefore, our university has formulated many regulations on beautifying and protecting the environment, and also adopted a series of measures. however, acts of destroying the environment on campus occur from time to time, such as not paying attention to public health, littering paper scraps and mineral water bottles, spitting everywhere, not caring for flowers and trees, trampling on the lawn, etc. campus is a place where everyone lives and studies together every day. we should love our campus as much as we love our home.

but, human like a greedy child, you want to ask for, regardless of the return, so that now environment is scarred, events, the injured will be us humans...

look! if you don't protect the environment, mother nature will also be angry, and 5.12 earthquake in 2008, for example, japan's earthquake, debris flow disasters, etc., in the process, how many people lost their loved ones, lost incalculable property, this is not the nature of human punishment?

our eyes are full of amazing stories. the little trees by the side of the road are broken, the grass is trampled and the flowers are picked. are they not hurt? deforestation, unrestrained mining resources. that's what people do. they do nothing to destroy the ecological balance. as primary school students, we should start by being around and start small. protect the plants and trees, don't litter, use disposable chopsticks, do your part.

瞧!如果不保护环境，大自然母亲也将会发怒，比如2008年的5.12大地震，日本大地震，泥石流灾害等，在这过程中，有多少人失去的亲人，失去了无法估量的财产，这不是大自然对人类的惩罚吗?

我们身边触目惊心的事例历历在目，如;路边的小树被折，小草被践踏，小花被采摘，难道他们不痛，不伤心吗?乱砍滥伐，无节制的开采矿产资源。人们就是这样，无所事事的破坏生态平衡。作为小学生，我们应该从身边做起，从小事做起;保护花草树木，不乱丢垃圾，不使用一次性筷子，尽自己一份微薄之力。

在此我呼吁大家;请保护环境，只有这样才是最终保护了人类自己!因为地球只有一个，人类不能克隆。

generally speaking, there are four sorts of waste. they are material waste, organic waste, inorganic waste and poisonous & harmful waste. now, we are going to talk about each sort of waste one by one.

material waste: it means the waste of substance or things from which something else can be made. for example, people throw away the used metal products and buy a new one, so the old metal waste accumulates. at last, they become waste. for example, when people finish reading newspaper, the paper will become waste. when the glass is broken, it also becomes waste. nobody wants to use a broken window or drink with a broken glass or wear a pair of broken glasses. once it is broken, it becomes waste. the rate of using plastics is increasing day by day. people use plastic bags because they are convenient. when they get home, they throw the plastics way, paying no attention to the environment. the more convenience plastics brings to us, the more plastic waste is produced. this is called white pollution as most plastics are white. some of our products we use every day are made of rubber, just like the tyres and the bottom part of our shoes. itsquo;s true that rubber plays an important role in our life. however, it also brings us some trouble when it has been used for a long time and becomes old. the old tyres become waste because it cansquo;t break down by nature. this is really a big problem.

do you often use batteries? then do you know it takes 50 times more energy to make them than they produce? and just one simple battery can pollute as much water as a person can drink in his whole life. the facts and figures are amazing. so would you please try to use batteries only when it is necessary? if possible, give the used ones to the recycling companies so that they will be made into new ones and wonsquo;t be able to pollute the environment any more. sometimes we become complacent when it comes to recycling, but when you speak in terms of actual facts and figures that everybody can understand, people become much clearer about the problem.

we, as school students, can also join in recycling activities to protect the environment. for example, our class set up a recycling center beside the back door, it is very useful. it is used to collect the waste paper and plastic bottles. in the past, our classmates used to throw all of these into the trashcan. at the very beginning of this collecting activity, it was not so warm-welcomed. later, more and more people were influenced by the others and joined this collecting activity. gradually, all the students in our class form a good habit to protect the environment. all of us will now put away the reusable things instead of throwing them into the trashcan.
